ABOUT LIFE

An operational hub, a philosophy of compassion, an activity centre of two dedicated charitable trusts engaged in yeomen services to mankind, evolved over the years when the effort and endeavors in Voluntary Blood Banking, Thalassaemia Prevention and Eradication, Environmental Sustenance and Excellence in Education began taking giant form and shape, increasing the need for a consolidate, congruent and well directed, multi-dimensional organizational functioning – more professionally and sharply oriented towards the objects and aims of the trusts – viz. Saurashtra Medical & Educational Charitable Trust and Indian Medical Scientific Research Foundation.

With the advent of donations by a philanthropist, of land at Racecourse Ring Road, Rajkot in Gujarat State of Western India and by several more towards construction, a sprawling, custom designed building was created in 1998, spanning 45000 sq. ft. of utility areas.

And then was born Project LIFE, a throbbing resonant and resilient fulcrum of radiance for all interventions and activities in social upliftment by Saurashtra Medical & Educational Charitable Trust and Indian Medical Scientific Research Foundation.

The genesis that began in 1978, with the conviction to spread love and hope for societal well being, by putting up the first ever state of the art Rajkot Voluntary Blood Bank in 1981 gathered momentum and grew into a formidable form to international standards harnessing recognition and support from across country borders.

The Project LIFE soon became a synonym of social and community service, in fields of Health, Education and Environment, with hosts of new programmes, new avenues, new interventions
