The Saurashtra Medical and Educational Charitable Trust, also known as Project ‘Life’ was honoured by the Government of Gujarat on 26th January, 2006 for its outstanding contribution in the fields of Blood Banking and Thalassaemia Eradication.
During the first management convention, the Rajkot Management Association awarded the Rajkot Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre, the Achievement Award – ISO 9002:1994 on 10th Jan, 2001
The INSWAREB AWARD 1999 was awarded to Project ‘Life’ building for effective use of Blended Cements in Design and construction by Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, India.
Project ‘Life’ was awarded the 1st prize in category III as the ‘Most outstanding concrete structure of India, 97’ on October 1998; by the Maharashtra Chapter of American Concrete Institute. Project ‘Life’ also bagged awards for the Best Architect, Consultant and Contractor.
On September 1985 RVBB was given the certificate of accreditation by the American Association of Blood Banks as it met the administrative and technical standards of this organization. Rajkot Voluntary Blood Bank was the only and the first blood bank in India to be honored with this accreditation.
